December 2013 Activities

Why not start out the post with a good bath photo?  Who doesn't love a good kids-in-the-bath photo?

Cora is practicing using scissors.  This was a family home evening project.  Cora cut the red parts of the scarf and the green hat.
While Coralee was coloring and cutting things out one day:
Mom: What are you making?
Cora: A present for Jesus.
Mom: What's the present?
Cora: A spaceship.
Mom: I'm sure he'll love it.  Let's hang it on the tree.

We decided it would be so much easier to travel for 2 months if Madelyn was out of a crib.  So even though she was pretty young, we made the switch.  We unstacked the bunk beds and put her in the "top" bunk that has a small railing all the way around except a small section where the ladder would go.

With her new found freedom of being about to get out of bed by herself, it definitely took some training to get her to stay in bed.  She would come out of her room having done some interesting things. Sometimes we found her asleep in the hallway, other times she would come out like this...

She then turned 18 months and was able to start nursery at church.  Of coarse, she LOVED it.
This was for the Super Bowl.
We had a lot of fun this Christmas and made a lot of good memories.  This was at a friends party.
We made tamales for the first time and they were delicious!  Definitely doing that again.
Coralee and Madelyn absolutely loved all my ornaments that Aunt Jill got me every year as a kid.  These were the ones that I let her "play" with... a.k.a.  put them on the window seal, then put them back on the tree.

Coralee's first day of Sunbeams with her friend, Brynlee.
She also gave a talk the following week with some visual aids on the ipad.

 Our snow/ ice day!

This tennis ball was in the back of Bryson's truck and was frozen solid to the truck.
